Efforts to promote the sustainable development of the industry
As one of the largest capacity factories in Vietnam’s paper industry, Tetra Pak Binh Duong produces about 12 billion paper boxes / year and the ability to expand to 20 billion paper boxes / year.
Built according to LEED Gold standards for all 4 projects, including production buildings, offices, supporting buildings and warehouses, the factory has saved 17.6 million liters of water and electrical energy up to 8,565 MWh / year, reusing and recycling 65% of waste. In particular, this plant can reduce 4,000 tons of CO2 emissions to the environment each year.
Industry experts expect that leading businesses like Tetra Pak will contribute to spreading the culture of sustainable development to the business community, so that in the coming years, the number of green buildings in the paper industry will continue increase. One of the initiatives that received high recognition from the community is that the Company partnered with other leading food, beverage and packaging businesses to form the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO ), to promote packaging collection and recycling. This business also set a goal by 2030, will collect and recycle all packaging materials that Tetra Pak brought into Vietnam.
